FREE CLASS WEEKS AT IN THE LIMELIGHT! SEPTEMBER 2-11, 2014!
To kick off our first fall season in our new Studio we are offering FREE TRIAL CLASSES in dance, acting and art from September 2-11, 2014.

This is a great opportunity to meet the teachers, tour the facilities, try out the classes and decide which ones you like the best. Enroll in a class by September 11, 2014 and save $20 per month on ALL dance classes and $10 per month on ALL acting and sewing classes!

MONDAY

TYPE OF CLASS: MUSICAL THEATER DANCE
DESCRIPTION: Enhances and tells the story of the musical. This class is a study of dances that are within musicals combining the song, acting within the dance, and dance movement itself. The student will be exposed to a variety of dance forms from ballet, modern, contemporary, lyrical, jazz and tap. Students will study various choreography styles of Bob Fosse, Agnes De Mille, Jerome Robbins and others, as well as choreography used for this season’s musicals.  If you plan to be in shows; plan to take this class! Students taking this class are strongly encouraged to take the specific styles of dance throughout the week for stronger focus on the individual techniques of each dance form.  


SCHEDULE
4:00-5:00pm Beginning- All ages 
5:00-6:00pm Intermediate Grades K - 5 
6:00-7:00pm Intermediate/Adv. Grades 6 – 12 
7:00-8:00pm The Musical Theater Performer   
Description: In this class the student will learn how to best be prepared for musical theater auditions and the essentials of every serious musical Theater performer.  Students will go through mock auditions to prepare and have a better understanding of how the dance portion of an audition is run. The student will also be working on building repertoire of musical and dance items. 


TUESDAY
TYPE OF CLASS: Technique (Ballet, lyrical, contemporary) 
DESCRIPTION: Ballet is the oldest, most noble form of dance and the most difficult. This dance form is most beneficial for body placement and alignment, strength, flexibility, control and the foundation for the other dance forms. Lyrical utilizes the lyrics of the music to tell a story with movements. This form of dance is very expressive and is a combination of ballet and jazz. Contemporary is a combination of ballet, modern and jazz.

5:00-6:00pm Intermediate K-5 
6:00-7:00pm Beg/Intermediate 6–12 
7:00-8:00pm Private lesson space or Advanced Ballet 6 – 12 


WEDNESDAY 
TYPE OF CLASS: Tap 
DESCRIPTION: Tap is a dance that creates rhythmic music with the feet.  The student will work on building simple rhythm to complex and syncopated.  In this class the student will develop a stronger understanding for tempo, musical timing, and how to stack steps.

6:30–7:30pm            Intermediate/Advanced Tap 




THURSDAY   
TYPE OF CLASS: Jazz 
DESCRIPTION: Jazz dancing improves coordination, musicality, body discipline and awareness. This dance form developed as a combination of ballet technique, social and traditional dance forms.  
4:00-5:00pm Beginning           All 
5:00-6:00pm Intermediate Grades K - 5 
6:00-7:00pm Intermediate/Adv. Grades 6 – 12 
7:00-8:00pm *Lift/partnering Grades 6 – 12  (This class is $110 per month)     




Dynamite Drama (For children in Kindergarten, 1st or 2nd Grade)  
This beginner level creative drama class is a perfect way to expose your young actor to the performing arts. Each week is a different adventure, as we play theater games, learn to create characters, dress up in costumes and make themed crafts. The class produces a showcase at the end of the fall session and the spring session. 
Meets once per week.

Scene Stealers (For children in 3rd, 4th, or 5th Grade) 
This acting class is perfect for the beginner level actor who is interested in acting as a hobby or a career but needs a place to start. This is the place! Each week we introduce and build on a variety of acting techniques, exercises and games that will markedly improve your child’s acting ability. Building a character, improvisation and monologue and scene work. SCENE STEALERS presents a showcase at the end of the fall session and the spring session. 
Meets once per week.

Pre-Stanislavski (For children in grades 3rd, 4th, 5th with on-camera and/or stage experience) 
This class is perfect for the actor ready to take it to the next level. For actors not ready for the Sensory/ Stanislavski intensive, but a good amount of on-camera or stage credit.  This class teaches the beginning of the Stanislavski technique. Heavy emphasis placed on improvisation, becoming believable characters and auditioning. This is for the young actor who is serious about their craft and genuinely wants to improve on their performances. Must have prior acting experience in order to enroll and meets once per week. 
Meets once per week.

Introduction to Acting (For Teens in Grades 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th)
This class is perfect for the middle school aged actor with minimal experience and a strong desire to learn.  Students will learn the beginning tools to creating amazing characters onstage. Students will learn exercises for scene work and solo materials. This is for the young actor who is serious about their craft and genuinely wants to improve on their performances. 
Meets once per week.

THURSDAYS 6:00-7:00 pm  


Introduction to Sewing (For kids of all ages) 
Students will learn the basic sewing skills of embroidery, pattern reading, cutting. Students will complete several projects over the course including a bag, pillow, pillowcase and much more. Tuition includes materials.

Acting for the Camera (For kids in grades 3-12)
Students will learn the subtle craft of acting in front of the camera. Students will learn and study different forms of film acting: single camera, three-camera sit-coms, comedic film and dramatic film.
Meets once per week
2 Bi-annual payments of $438 (Due at registration/ prior to September 2 and January 5, 2015) or $110 per month (Register by September 11 and pay $100 per month)

WEDNESDAYS 5:00-6:45 pm


Auditioning (For kids in grades 4-12)
Students will learn the ever tricky craft of auditioning for different shows, jobs, roles within the entertainment industry, schools and theaters. Students will learn how to find selections to present in an audition setting and how to handle themselves within different call back situations. Portfolio development is also a key component to this class. Focus is on Acting and Vocal. For dance auditions enroll in the MUSICAL THEATER PERFORMER class listed on the DANCE page.

In the Limelight is an innovative theatrical production company for children and teens in Central Florida. Our focus is to present high quality dramatic and comedic plays and musicals, featuring children and teens in all of the roles.  In addition to productions, we specialize in small group instruction, acting, dance, voice, piano, and musical theater training and private coaching for young actors interested in drastically improving their on-stage/performing arta performances.
